Th eimportant thing is the height - you should never transport an LCD tv flat, as it can irreversibly damage the pixel matrix and you would not be covered by a warranty!

You should always transport and store these tvs in an upright position to avoid this.

If you have bought anything larger than a 32" tv, I'd suggest it won't fit in uprightly - ask about delivery, or borrow a van.

Cheers,

Mike

put in on the back seat in the saftebelts

have transported many this way, and believe i am not lying as we have about 10 in the house :D of wich the largest is about 50 inch :D

It's alright knowing the dimension of the TV but when they bring it out from the back of the store, its invariably about half as big again due to all the packaging - at which point you look at it and go 'Oh s**t. I need a bigger car'.

Exactly, which is why I said a 32" tv would be the limit. Our 40" Bravia took 2 men to carry it and the box is about 3 feet tall!

Cheers,

Mike

I only wish I'd known about transporting them upright before. We fitted our 40" LCD in the back of the A2 laying down - thankfully it was only a 2 mile journey home and it's still working perfectly now.

As mike said your lucky. The box should have been marked with arrows showing the way to transport or store the tv in the box. you should also let the tv get up to room temprature before turning it on the for the first time (LCD's and plasma's)
