I've got a rattle behind the boot trim panel - might be the lock mechanism? Does anyone know how to remove it. I can't see any screws or similar...
thanks

It's clips only, but metal ones so hard to losen. You might want to use some plastic wedge of some sort, to drive between the trim and metal.

No personal experience, but read this on this German forum:

http://www.audi-a2club.de/thread.php?threadid=1268&sid=&hilight=heckklappe

There are some pictures of the location of the clips somewhere down the thread.

Are you sure it's coming from behind there?
I also have rattles all over the place sometimes, but they are usually very hard to trace accurately. If you're on your own, that is.

Happy rattle hunting ;)

Yeah, I think it's there. I'm sad enough to sit in the back while my girlfriend drives me around. It's just a bit annoying, the English roads around my house are terrible & speed bumps at work make me really sensitive to rattles!

The panel pulls off, it feels as if you are breaking it. Take care when re-fitting it as the clips fit into slots in the aluminium. Our dealer managed to bend the inner boot skin when they changed a lock actuator. Result was thet the clips didn't hold and the trim fell out.
