Hi, I'm about to get a 03 1.6 FSI Sport. I looked at a 1.6 SE and it had a hidden boot compartment, the FSI Sport doesn't seem to have this - were these on particular models?

What you are referring to is the false floor, which was standard for the SE spec vehicle, but not the Sport, which explains the difference. It can be added on at moderate cost (£200-ish) with a bit of time and effort.

The SE also got fogs, illuminated vanity mirrors and other minor 'comfort & convenience' related items, whereas the Sport got sport seats, 17" wheels and sport suspension, full DIS (the readout between the dials) and a 3 spoke steering wheel.

Cheers,

Mike

Cheers for quick response, I went for test drive today, part exchanging Puma 1.7. Need a 5 door economical car as expecting baby in the summer, the A2 seems to fit the bill. Dad has TT and A4 and has sold me the Audi brand. Looking forward to using this forum…

If you still want to keep a bit of 'oomph' in your daily drive (especially coming from a Puma), then think seriously about a TDi and at least test drive one before deciding.

The FSi is quicker on paper, but in the real world, a diesel (especially tuned) is as quick, if not quicker and it's more economical too, with 60mpg real world returns pretty normal and £35 road tax for post 2003 vehicles.

Cheers,

Mike
