See this thread :)

Yes as you have found out the far better Bosch pump is NOT a direct fit on the tdi 90 ATL engine. As Louis has pointed out that is what is required.

Could you post the details, if you have found an off the shelf extender. That would be very helpful for others wishing to upgrade their tandem pump to a Bosch unit and have an ATL 90. Also let us know how good quality the part is and if it works perfectly or otherwise.

Thanks I’ve ordered a pipe that extends the valve as shown in the thread
Hi,I'm pleased you have found that thread. If you've ordered the same pipe as I did it will be quite an easy job.I would check your egr too,if there is oil coming from breather holes then best to replace while your there.Otherwise connect the pipes but the charge pipe will need to be modified to correct the angle caused by the additional pipe.I just flashed off the "wings" and once in the correct position I put a couple of self tapping screws in.Its been fine since I did the job and a lot more confidence in the Bosch pump too

Thanks I haven’t received the pipe yet but what modifications did you have to do to the new pipe ?

If the pipe is the same as the one from the egr to the flap motor it will bolt straight on.The flap motor will bolt on too but will have a clockwise rotation. This means the rubber charge pipe will twist and deform if you don't modify it.All I did was remove the two "wings" that the spring clip holds the pipe into the flap motor.Once these were off I offered up the pipe in a new position and secured with a couple of self tap screws.I think I posted pics of the job once finished

Unfortunately no,but an "off the shelf fix" is to replace with an LUK pump.I simply wanted a better option. It was pretty much off the shelf as all of the aluminium parts lined up without alterations. The charge pipe was altered and fitted in less than 30 mins.Maybe @depronman could obtain the connector pipe, and machine a new one that cancels the rotation caused by the flap motor flange?
