Bose speakers into a standard Chorus setup

Hi all, quick one which I’ve searched the forum and not found an answer for. As someone who only really likes OEM, is it possible to install Bose door speakers in place of the standard ones that my A2 came with? My thinking is that the quality of the cone will likely be better and get a better audible experience. I appreciate it will never be the same as the full Bose setup....and if I am honest, I am already massively impressed with the audio output of this 16 year old system. It would be interesting to know the possibility of plug and play or whether it would need additional wiring (should there be a cross-over to power on the door speaker etc)?

Hi there Audifan, good to know they’re the same physical dimensions-just wondering if the Bose speakers internees for the rear could be driven off the Chorus head unit, or whether they require a separate feed? Alternatively, would it be possible to get two sets of ‘front Bose speakers’ and install one set in the back (if the Bose rears are physiologically different)?

Not a good idea, I remember the Ohmn rating for Bose speakers is different then the standard speakers. Not plug and play, rather plug and bang, in the end.

Ahh, the impedance is lower on the Bose speakers then :( . Shame but sounds like the current setup will remain

Sorry not into these electrons and stuff, looks you are correct about impedance and got I the wrong word in Ohmn, sounds much the same to me!, must learn some electronics!!!

A forum search on 'impedance' with user 'Timmus' ......
