Bottom arm problem.

A couple of weeks ago had a look around the car mechanically as its MOT is due. Thank goodness I read one of the threads about checking bottom arms on the forum.

On a serious note did the car drive ok?
Did you have to replace rear bush in renewal process?

Sorry about the last photo my mate had some soil delivered at 6 last night driver dropped in the middle of the road he wasn’t too happy accidentally added. With the Bottom arm I tried to remove from the rear bush with a crowbar but the arm was so badly corroded it broke into two. I was left with part of it still left in the rear bush. I used a hole saw to drill the rubber around where arm went into the bush. I then used another hole saw slightly bigger to cut the rest of the rubber away so was left with the metal sleeve of the bush. I then carefully used a hacksaw blade to cut the sleeve not all the way but most the way. Then used a chisel to collapse it in and remove it. Replaced the bush with lemforder from euro parts and used the kit recommended on the forum from eBay had to modify a bit with a grinder to get it to sit right to push the bush but did the job well.

My last car was just dropped off today to get cast wishbones, really has been weighing on my mind that it had original stamped arms. Especially as the 2 other cars I have had this changed and out of the 3 it’s the one that is used the most

After reading previous posts on the forum changing my Arms for the cast iron ones. Went for TRW bottom arms expensive but they are oem manufacture for Porsche etc. Been waiting a while for them to come from Europe though so car is off the road at the moment.

I fitted lemforder and meyle side by side no difference apart from the price double + for the lemforder

I can’t even find the moog ones I have for sale any more there are diederichs for £64 a side however or FAI for £78 l, a left control arm from TRW is now an amazing £190!
