brake light switch

Another part out of stock in the UK!
I was promised 3 to 5 days by Preston Audi 5 weeks ago.
Just chased them up again and now told that there was a problem so they are now waiting for an order to be received in mid June.
Fortunatlely my brake lights still work ok but it is really annoying driving with the engine management light flashing. At least I was promised a car if the brake lights go out.
Arggggggghhhhhh

PS this is a warranty replacement for the previous brake light repair from August last year.

brake light switch gone

Well the switch finally threw a complete wobbler. The brake lights kept staying on and the revs being cut, so it was down to Audi this morning. I had phoned couple of weeks ago for a progress check on a new switch and had been told June! That will be about 16 weeks in total from the first visit.
Anyway, I did not even have to ask before a key was given to me for a courtesy car and now I have an estimated date of 16th June to get my A2 back.
The car is a new A4 TDI. First impressions of which do not put it up there with my A2. It is just a big car with higher fuel consumption and the driving position is not as good for me.

Brake Switch availability

Mine got replaced within a few days once Audi had to provide loan car, despite none in UK or at factory starting point.

Hope you get similar service!

I ordered a spare switch from VAG to keep in car for next failure - circa £5.00 and turrned up within a week or so of order.

Ciao,

Erling
