Brake pedal sucking noise

Could still be the bellows split allowing the noise of the diaphragm into the cabin. If the diaphragm itself was split you would have no servo assistance in the braking. Is the clip part of the pedal? Has it dropped out, got twisted or is it missing altogether?

The servo isn't holding vacuum. I now have a good replacement ready to fit.
The clip has locking tabs that hold the servo rod end ball. I found it impossible to remove this clip without breaking it.

Ah. I thought there might be a special tool. Too late now.
I was working off another thread here and at that time the clip was available for £4 from Audi. Only a couple of years ago. I should have checked.

Ok, all fixed now, brakes good. It was the servo.
The aftermarket clip sold on eBay works with a small amount of modification.
The clip has four lugs, two of which fit perfectly. The other two are too high. So, cut off the two non fitting lugs flush and then the clip drops down into the slot correctly and is held by the two lugs that fit. I then drilled two small holes in the clip to match the holes where the lugs would have been and used two small cable ties to secure. Works perfectly.

Morning Dave,

I’m glad you got this sorted so quickly. I remember it not being a very comforting sound when I had the hissing noise coming from down in the footwell.

Thank you for informing us that there is a way of utilising an ebay item, with little modification. Your link doesn’t seem to direct me to it though, it simply sends me to eBay but not a specific listing.

Kind regards,

Tom

Hi Tom
Thanks for your comments. I'm working off my kindle and can't get it to copy. I've replaced it with the picture.
This clip is available from Tradition but they are still not selling to us in the UK.

Hi,
Very informative and got me up and running with the same fault. Mod on the clip worked a treat.
The serial that VAG gave us said the new servo part ended in 106 but when it was removed it was a 105b as stated earlier for this model.
