Good Evening,

Who are 'some' and 'others'?

Andy

The second number doesn’t exist. What year is the car, it depends on what ABS system it has

OP has a 2003 1.4 TDI (90) [from his profile]

Welcome to the forum. It helps others to help you by stating the model, year and engine code as parts differ according to these.

Online parts manuals also need a PR code that is on the sticker in the boot and in the first page of the service book if you have that. This bit gets a bit complicated and it doesn't help that the https://audi.7zap.com/en/rdw/audi+a2/a2/ online manual gets the date formats wrong.

So 7zap servo page is https://audi.7zap.com/en/rdw/audi+a2/a2/2003-248/6/612-612010/ but the format has changed since I last used it - cannot see the PR code column :(

Alternatively this catalogue https://www.euspares.co.uk/parts-catalog/brake-booster-10125/audi/a2/a2-8z0/17626-1-4-tdi? says

A2 (8Z0) 1.4 TDI 90 HP Brake Booster ATE 03.7850-0102.4
Article №: 03.7850-0102.4
OEM Number: 8Z1614106; 300180
Condition: New
£179 at AutoDoc

but sometimes they cannot be 100% correct.

Good morning , thank you for replies. Some people (on audi forums) mentioned about it being a different number than what actuyakly came out of the car . So i got this picture this morning from my mecanhic. So heres hoping i can find one. Thanks for help.

thank you so much for taking time to reply .

Only 2 used on ebay. You might find this thread relevant if your servo has the same problem. Read it to the end:

I am in exactly the same position - my car failed its mot because of the warning sign. I was told by the garage, and this has been confirmed by an Audi main dealer and by Volkswagen, that it needs a brake servo part no 8Z2614206. But the annoying thing is that the warning sign comes on and goes off at random, and the car works fine, so if only I could coordinate the mot with the sign not being on! Can anyone help or advise me - I’m very attached to the car - it is an x reg and one of the first sold in UK. I bought it new.

Hi @RobinH

I have a couple here, you’ll need to pull back the cylindrical carpet cover on the bulkhead which will reveal the servo like the picture above. You’ll very likely have the same as the above fitted to your car. The part number usually ends in ‘A’ or ‘B’

If you can manage to get the part number I should be able to help you out ASAP

Many thanks
Craig

The ATE catalogue might help, but it only shows the LHD version. Wouldn't think it was different, but what do I know.
Mac.

Can you get the ATE part number?

What is the DTC? I am wondering what vacuum brake booster can shoot as error 🤔 If you turn of the engine does your pedal get stiff? And when you start the engine it gets back to normal again?

Something different is ABS unit...

Not sure, but I don't think there's a brake servo pressure sensor for the MK20 or MK60 ABS Controller, so no DTC associated with servo. Could be wrong though ...
Mac.

The servo can cause it a DTC it has a solenoid N247 inside it on MK20 cars. This may be present on MK60 too
