brakes - help!

I have both brake shoes off the drum but I didn't mean to take them off at all!

I was trying to bleed rear brake but as the valve release would not work I tried letting some fluid out through the brake cylinder.

One or two springs came loose and in trying to get the thing back together, before I knew it the whole thing was off.

What's the best way to get them back on? Do you put the springs on first?

Also the handbrake cable has come off. Should I try and connect this back on first? How do you slacken it off?

Fitted some new audi brake shoes and adjusted handbrake cable.

Was driving along today into town and I was getting some loud scraping noise coming from the near-side of the vehicle (not from the start of driving) but this could have been the front brake as this does scrape sometimes.

As a precaution I jacked up each rear wheel and tried to turn each one with the handbrake on. Whilst the near-side wheel is stiff, the off-side wheel seems more difficult to turn. Is it normal for there to be a difference? When driving, the braking seems fine, but I don't suppose the rear brake has much affect as it is meant to be the front disc brakes that work most of the time.

When I spin the wheel with the brake off, it does spin but there is a very slight 'buffing sound that occurs every rotation but it's not constant. Is this just the brakes 'bedding in'?
