Brakes Question

My brake reservoir appears to be leaking from somewhere, even though all tubes are connected, but the black paint on the retainer is being eaten.

Is it easy to change the reservoir?

According to the elsawin and ETKA etc our A2's have two break pressure senders. Thing is mine only has one in the brake master cylinder, and when connected to vag com, the field which has the second reading in says N/A.

Is this right or should I have two??

Hi John
The way I read the parts book it suggests only one sensor was fitted from chassis no 8Z2 013 000 to 8Z3 019 000
On cars with 2 sensors, one is used as a back-up as it it says they are a duplicate design to guarantee maximum safety.

I've not changed a brake reservoir but you will obviously get air in the system. ELSA indicates you may need a 2bar pressure bleeder to bleed the hydraulic unit if air gets trapped in there

I see that now - only one, thats first problem solved.

My brake fluid needs changing so I think I may get the reservoir changed at the same time.

The two pips that run from the reservoir to the master cylinder; do they have part no.s I cant find them on ETKA.

Think im gonna ring stealth, as they are just up the road from me and get them to repair it and replace brake fluid, as I dont fancy messing with the brakes
