Breakdown

66Beetle

A2OC Donor
Broken down. 1.4 Petrol BBY Engine stopped. Electrical burning smell. Will not Restart. Called RAC. They are exceptionally busy ! Messaged Timmus. Kindly suggested it would be a failed Coil Pack that had blown ECU Fuse. Checked Coil Packs as I have New Spares in A2. Obviously No 1 had burnt out. Took it out but Connector Plug is melted. Tried to be helpful by Phoning RAC to update. Response was that they might not be prepared to work on it as I had started by taking the Coil Pack out !

Anyway very good RAC Man has just turned up and is going to Tow it Home !

Glad they got to you quickly
Anyone know the Part Number for the correct Connector Plugs please ?

That’s the Coil Pack. I have New Spare Coil Packs. It’s the Connector Plug that has melted. Thank you

If the connector has melted, I'm guessing you'll be best using a repair loom, which is a connector, with wire tails, which you connect to the original loom, with the damaged part cut off.
Widely available. Google "vw coil pack connector repair"
The one in the pic comes with solder ring heat shrink joints.

Yes. That would be just the job. Going to Switzerland tomorrow, Manchester Airport and Swiss permitting ! , so will look at Ordering to be Deliverd on our return. Timmus did kindly offer to come and fix it. May take him up on that yet, as we know he would do a good job of it.
