Broken o/s (rhd) front spring

Hi all,
I have just followed all the wonderful postings regard replacing the front springs and yes I would agree it is a pain if you're not mechanically minded.
I would like to add (unless posted already and forgive me, I couldnt find it) that the only issue I had was when trying to free the r/h/s damper from the bearing housing. I found the damper just too long to get free, as the drive shaft was prevented from lowering any further (yes I didn't want to remove the driveshaft). I had to 'jack up' the damper with a bottle jack and a block of wood onto the side pieces of the damper (the piece which holds the connecting link) and this compressed the damper enough to remove it from the housing.
I also did this to refit the new damper.
A tip (if not already submitted), I covered the new spring with an old bicycle inner tube to prevent damage to the plastic coating when using spring compressors as, imho, I believe this was the cause of premature failure at the top 100mm of my spring.
Also don't forget to pre-order your drinks as you'll need them ;)
