OK I know it's not spring time yet!

Just that this is now the 3rd time I've had to replace headlamp bulbs. [4]

Bought a pair of Bosch all weather main beam ones from halfords about 3 weeks ago because the nearside normal beam (fine on hi beam) one went.

Installed and they appeared brighter with a yellowy glow. Now just with the clocks going back - bang the same problem!

Any ideas?

What are the best replacement bulbs on the market IYHO?

Thanks

Well IMHO ;) I feel that none of the bulbs last long enough to do justice to their price. So right now I've decided to stick with 'regular' ones that, in my case, get paid for by my lease company....

I've had a pair of Philips Bluevision plus bulbs installed. Did that last April or May. And last September both (!) of them died within a day of eachother. I estimate that in those 5 months or so I drove about 20k to 25k km (not miles!). I always have my light turned on.
That comes to about 450 burning hours (@ a 50km/h average, my guess).

Is that too little? Maybe not.
Did I like the bulbs? Yes I did, especially right after I got them.
Was there a big difference? No, not really, IMO. A bit whiter, maybe a little longer reach, but not enough do spend 40 euros every 5 months.

As a sidenote, I think that the time at which bulbs tend to die is also weather and season related. Because there always seems to be a particular time of year when lots and lots of cars have a dead bulb, just when mine are dying too.
Temperature differences (colder nights)? Moisture (fall and therefore more rain)?

Anyway, when I replaced my Bluevision with regular ones, I suddenly thought: hey, these are quite white too! Not too bad.... I'm sticking with these, for all of the reasons above.

Anybody else that can guess the number of hours after which their bulbs died?

Regards,

Edo
