Bush confusion?

Just looking into getting some bushes for the VRS spare used consoles I have purchased. My arms are for a TDI I always thought they were the same for petrol and diesel but euros list the tdi one with a 18mm internal diameter (out of stock) and petrol with either 16mm or 18mm. I know some members have had to modify their arms to fit, could this be the reason? Also I have read on here despite the consoles from other VAG models having same part numbers the rear bush casting diameter can be different?

Measured my castings they are 62mm diameter so all good there, the arms I have are a 19mm hex so may need the paint removing to aid fitting into the bush, time will tell

The Audi parts catalogue lists two console bushes for the Audi A2, 8Z0407183 and 8Z0407183A.

OEM part number 8Z0407183 is for the Audi A2 with petrol engines.

OEM part number 8Z0407183A is for the Audi A2 with diesel engines (not including 1.2TDI).

Lemforder 27134 01 is for the Audi A2 petrol models, so should be an exact match for 8Z0407183.

Lemforder 27135 01 is for the Audi A2 diesel models (not including 1.2TDI) so should be an exact match for 8Z0407183A.

An alternative to using the Audi A2 console bushes, is to use the Seat Ibiza Cupra R 2004-2008 console bushes which have OEM part number 6LL407183. These are also made of solid rubber.

The problem with using ECP is that they hide the model numbers, and use their own internal codes instead. This is uncompetitive behaviour in order to make it more difficult to compare prices on the internet. However, it makes it difficult to know exactly what you are buying.

Maybe if you contact ECP, they can tell you what the Lemforder bushes using their internal codes 610442055 and 610442065 actually are. I suspect they are Lemforder 27134 01 and Lemforder 27135 01, but which one is which...who knows. Or just ask ECP what OEM part numbers each one is sold to replace.

What tool are you going to use to press out the old console bushes?

This tool made by Tedgum looks like it could apply a lot of pressure, because the threaded part that the bolt threads into looks quite long...thereby enabling more pressure to be applied before the thread is damaged. It's also probably best to grease the thread before you use it to prevent premature wear of the thread. I saw a cheaper one on ebay for about half the price, but the seller admitted that it was too flimsy to actually remove the console bush and could only be used for pressing in the new one...which seemed a bit pointless, as you would need a beefier tool to remove the old one in the first place.
