I'm afraid to say that as of yesterday, I no longer own an A2. I enjoyed my final drive to the VW dealer to pick up the new car and will certainly miss the A2 especially when it comes to the fuel economy and squeezing into tiny parking spaces.
I have driven about 60 miles in the Touran so far both on A roads and this afternoon in central London. My first impressions of it are very positive. It's very easy to drive with a slick 6 speed gearbox and plenty of power from the 1.6 FSI engine, even with 4 adults in the car. The suspension over potholes and speed bumps is a refreshing change compared to how the A2 behaved! It's also very easy to judge it's size in terms of parking. I think the fuel ecomomy is going to disappoint me over time as the current average is 30mpg, but I hope that on a long trip it should be able to average 40mpg. The equipment inside the car is great with very good air con and an excellent stereo with changer in the armrest. So far we're very pleased our choice of car and the colour is definitely growing on us.
