Byzanz Purple A2

Id love to keep it but sadly don't have the funds to run a 3rd car and would love for it to goto an A2 enthusiast that appreciates how rare it is so it can live on for many more years, it needs abit of paint and the usual climate / headlight / window switches are worn but nothing too major.

Don't worry Jimbo, I'm still looking after your old Sport as you know

I think you should keep the purple one as an on going project

I'd love to mate, I'm still waiting for a message to say my old ones up for sale, by that time tho I'll be able to run a 3rd motor as the kids will have left home lol

It's got open sky, reverse sensors, symphony Bose, winter pack, front fogs, black leather (5 seater), full dis, 4 spoke leather s/wheel, false floor in boot and prob more.

Wow! Lovely looking car and great spec. Great you saved it :)

I also have all the original paperwork and order form from when it was bought and on there it says Byzanz.

Steve said the non-standard paint job was an extra £2000, Add it all those extras and it must have cost a small fortune. Does the original paperwork say how much?

A quick look at the price sheet for March 2001 gives a cost of £19,500 + £2,000 for custom paint = £21,500 (£32,000 in today's money according to the Bank of England).

If you have "Satellite Satellite navigation system" add another £1,000 or if "navigation system plus with 5" map display" add another £2,000 (all figs rounded)

That's stunning imagine that with a vortex kit!!

It amazes me how the A2 has never aged I cant never remember them first being launched as I would of been 14 bet they were a proper eye catcher and still are

I remember that colour. It's an "old" standard one from the 80/90/coupe/cabriolet era. A nice one :)

From the pictures, I see that is has volumetric alarm too.

It's an FSI, so not in the 2001 pricelist...
No navi, but Symphony, he said.
Navi was more expensive that special paint, so actually, there are many A2's costing (new) more than that on this forum...
List price of mine was higher, I think (it came with RNS-D). And it's not the highest specced here.

Here it's the 2004 pricelist : http://www.a2oc.net/forum/showthread.php?23339-UK-Pricelist-June-2004
Special paint is 1500 GBP, not 2000. And considering metallic paint costs 475 GBP, the usual premium for special paint is then 1025 GBP.

If you mean the button above the fuel flap release, don't all A2s have that (I never checked but I have never seen one without it, unless it is not on the 1.2 ?)

I added up all the options as I still have the original brochure that's got the options circled and it came to £21,153 but at the time of purchase Audi had a deal on with certain options, one of them was free metallic paint so they had to pay the difference for the special paint option, it came to £18,787.98. Here's the original invoice :-

That's a beautiful car and a nice reflection in the shiny and rare paintwork of that other special Audi you own Terry. Like the choice of wheels too. Lovely.:D

That really is a gorgeous colour :). Reminds me a little of Merlin Purple, which was available on the B5 A4 I think.
