Camshaft housing sealant

I’m about to put my camshaft cover back on on my AUA. I’m wondering whether I should use silicone or anerobic sealant? I would also like to know whether I should apply just a thin raised bead or spread the sealant out across the width of the join before assembly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi David,

Have a look at the video linked in this post, yet note the author's other comments. The sealant application is about 2/3 through the video.
