cant find 01 engine contoler in vag-com vcds

hi all

got a throttle body alignment code
tryed to do a adjustment but cant connect to 01 engine controler

could this be connected to another code on abs of 01314 ecu intermitant comunication?

i dont know where the ecu may be located on my 2001 1.4 i cant see it in the engine bay, just wanted to check the connections

vag seems to find all my other control modules

please help

The ecu is in the passenger footwell. Lift the carpet and you will see the metal cover. Turn the two knobs and lift.

Thanks, just had a look its a litle wet in there is than normal?
all the connections look fine, there seems to be 2 o 3 to the left then one black block, going in to the big black box
is there anyway of opening it up to check?

the car runs fine till warm then revs go funny and yellow epc light on the dash

i can access all the other control modules appart from the 01 engine, but i can using my other obd tools

All I know where it is, no more info than that. It's not good that it's wet in the footwel.

Have you had a new windscreen recently? I would look into that as a priority electrics and ecu and water don't mix.

I will do a search and see if I can find info on wet footwel.
