Caravan radio

Whilst sunbathing in sunny Wiltshire (really hot) in my caravan, I was asked to see if I could solve the problem of a non working radio in a friends new caravan. The radio is a normal JVC car radio. Halfords wanted £30 to fix it if the van were driven to them, or maybe £50 if they came out. The selling caravan dealer told a long story about "they weren't allowed to make the radio work till 2006, because the van is a 2006 model". You can't make it up can you?
He suggested returning the van to S*****n where the radio would be removed, and re-wired involving drilling holes in the storage lockers.

Enter our super hero (me) who connected the aerial lead to the back of the radio, result perfect reception.

It's not only Audi it's the whole blooming country!!!

Is it a case of peanuts and monkeys, or is it that people just don't give a monkeys?

If you want apalling after sales service combined with poor build quality, buy a caravan! If the Japanese ever build caravans for sale to UK, it will be goodbye to ALL the current UK manufacturers.

Do you really have a sunbed in the caravan???

"...sunbathing.....in my caravan....!!!!

a post taken from another forum reads;

I had a form from the DVLA to tell me my car was off the road, this despit the fact that it has a a RFL? They blame the reg transfer , but I paid them for that. Ha! said the member of staff, must be a glitch in the computer.

No said I. I am an IT guy...It's a glitch between the seat and keyboard!!!!!!

Response from DVLA staffer...Hummmmmm could be don't know which keyboard was used!

CHIMPS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't slum it. I use SILVER foil, the very idea, tinfoil!!!
Don't you think it was clever to plug in my friends radio aerial where the experts failed? Or were they just after the loot?
It does not pay to be a mug these days, that's one reason I bought Skipton's workshop manual discs, I like to go in with some knowledge, but I don't want to get dirty any more. Although I do object to someone getting dirty for me at £140 + VAT!!!! That's almost one weeks pension from the State.
