Any cat owners here?

We've got two, one's about 10 years old (on the left), was ferule and now is kinda tolerant of us, the other is a 5 month old black persian kitten who's not the sharpest tool in the box, but loving and likes a warm lap.

Here's some piccies of them + a couple of funnies I found...

Anyone else got any piccies of their cats (or any other pets for that matter).

Ade, yes we have a cat, 18 years old and we love her to bits! She has a few health problems, but thankfully she keeps taking the pills. She keeps me company during the day, and I get more sense out of her than most adults!

Have two cats also. Sadly enough, I have some pictures with the one in the A2 sleeping. Couldn't resist the photo opportunity - as cat owners I guess you'll understand. Characters of both are completely different - 1 is mad and fights everything it sees (dogs included), while the other is really timid - good thing is they are both friends.

Fully understand the photo opportunity bit, I have quite a bit of footage of our cats doing mad things, chasing bits of paper around, running around in the garden chasing a leaf in the wind and the like. They are such a calming influence, especially when the are older, they are like a comfortable sofa (now I sound old). You can sit down and they come and sit on your lap, purring away and you can just feel the daily stress ebb away.

Amazing isn't it. I've always liked cats, grew up with 4, but always loathed dogs. I found out at age 29 that I'm allergic to dogs, but not cats. My subconscious at work methinks.

Sorry Ade but I'm a dog person. Lots of personality and a lovely greeting when you get home from work. Also no dead rabbits/birds/mice etc on the doorstep each morning.
One of the things that used to wind me up about cats was that they used to crap in our garden on a regular basis. Then we got Stella & it all stopped rather suddenly.

Rob,

I can imagine your frustration. Our cats never use our garden!!! :)
I know exactly what you mean about dogs unconditional love - personally my parents had labradors (3 in total) for all of my life I was at home and I adored them. A few years ago, before we got the cats, my opinion ws exactly like yours. We really wanted a lab, however both of us work so it would have been very unfair. Finally we decided on a cat/s and took two from a rescue centre (both street cats). Cats dont give you the same unconditional love as dogs, however can I dare say make you earn it. They really seem to have more of an attitude than dogs, and can actually be moody at times - personally I find them very entertaining. Great fun.

You can't beat having a dwarf lop bunny about the house-ours is nearly 4 months old and a right nutter. Well worth the entertainment value!.

When you say 'share a cat', do you go halves on the prawn toast and rice also? ;)

That's how we got our first cat (Tiff). She 'adopted' us from next door (2 homes ago now) as she didn't get on with their other cat. She doesn't get on with many things really, apart from a large fluffy toy sheepdog which she used to pad on. I'm sure she was getting off with the thing as it went all musty smelling and a funny colour after a while. [:0]
