First the good news thanks to help from the forum I now have a stripped out A2 waiting get the CD changer, Most trim came out Ok but you have to be brutal!

I've fitted the cable- why did no one mention the under dash trim you have to fight to get off before you can get the cable to the head unit?
(I wanted to make sure I didnt foul anything vital).
Now my problem- stripped the boot trim out Ok but no stud fixings-I'm guessing I need 3 plastic stud inserts to go into the hex cut outs, also my bracket (which Audi says is OK) seems to foul the ally seat belt casting - any suggestions,?

As you did't buy the bracket new you will not have the fixing lugs as these are a once only item (they go in but will never come out as when you tighten the bolt the lug deforms on the inside of the body panel).

Audi or Vagparts should be able to get you a fixing kit.

Spot on Shezlee- only problem is Audi won't supply the lugs- I had to buy the whole bracket £23 and even then it fouled the seat belt mounting and had to be "modified" which is Audi speak for bend it over a bit!
Having used the lugs I'm not impressed and yes the bolts are too short!
I should have used butterfly fixings. I now have a spare bracket as well as the trim!
