Central locking issues...

1 remote key (that doesn’t work), and even when deadlocked, the car is trying to re-lock itself every 10 minutes. Scared I’m gonna get my one key locked in....

Any ideas where to start?

(Thinking it’s potentially a duff connection somewhere - but it doesn’t seem to do it with the key in the ignition and running).

Evening,

If you PM Tom @timmus he will be able to solve this for you. He might even be able to send you a CCCU with working key fobs if you’re lucky. If not then he can certainly provide a similar service if you send him your key fob, he will pair it to the replacement CCCU and send it back ready to go.

Best to contact him via PM as he will need a few details from you first.

Kind regards,

Tom

Does also sound like the locks are cycling. Are you saying while you are driving the car the locks are not cycling , only when it is parked and then locked? Have you tried opening and closing all the doors and hatch in case one is not fully closed? Do you have a door open indication on the DIS? Does the fuel release flap button work when you open the drivers door? Is the alarm working? Does it do the same when you lock the car from the switch on the drivers door?
It is possible the car has become confused and needs a reset, to do this disconnect both battery cables from their terminals, then touch the two battery cables together to dissipate any residual power in the car, then reconnect the two battery cables to their battery terminals and retry. I suspect the issue is more drivers door lock than CCCU.

I see your real concern, but yes take Audifan's advice, certainly get the metal key blade copied asap you will need that anyway to make up a full second remote fob. Somewhere like Timpsons or another option is to send a decent picture of your blade to one of the eBay sellers, fast service costing around £10.

Car left running to test yesterday - and it doesn’t appear to happen with the ignition on - which I’d assume points to CCCU - @timmus pm’d....

copy key to be ordered just in case.

Reset technique doesn’t work on the fob, which suggests the remote is duff. So that’s 2x new keys required :-(
