Change to timing belt interval.

I just had a call from my pal who I bought my 90BHP TDI from.

He has had a letter from Audi saying that the timing belt change interval has been brought DOWN to 75k miles or 5 years.

Don't know what it was before.

Cheers

Hi,
Have been told by Tyneside Audi, cambelt every 4 yearas or 60K, they do not trust the Audi UK figuers. Have had my A2 since new, changed cambelt at 60K along with the water pump.

Well as my car is now about 5 years old I'm looking at having the timing belt done.

Questions:

1. How much should I be paying.

2. Has anyone heard of one breaking.

3. Is it an interference engine.

Cheers

To help you out:

1. Try the search function, it's pricing over discussed.

2. I've heard of timing belts breaking, big repair costs following...

3. It is an interference engine. Most modern cars are.
