Changes to Marketplace rules

Hello

We've introduced some revised rules for members wishing to advertise items within our Marketplace forum. It is now a requirement for members to include their full name, address and telephone number in their user profile. You can do this by selecting the My Profile link at the top of the page; selecting the About Me tab; and then editing the relevant Marketplace details. Please note that only the site administrators have access to this information once entered. Your details will not be used for any marketing purposes.

All new posts will now also be placed into a moderation queue prior to publishing. This is to allow our moderators to confirm that these rules are being adhered to.

If you cannot meet these rules for any reason, then please state the reasons why in your submission, and the moderators will judge them on their merits.

The main objective for this change is to provide the club and its members with some additional safeguards against potentially fraudulent advertisements.

For full details of the current rules - please see this link:

Thanks

I think some clarity is beneficial for those who may see the tightening of marketplace rules as restrictive or unnecessary.

The club was investigated recently following an A2 being advertised for sale which was alleged to have had the mileage digitally altered.

Much work and debate has gone on in the background to ensure the club and its members are protected. It's hoped that the majority understand the need for some constraints, and the forum remains a free platform for members to sell A2's and related products.

Just to clarify as this caused me some confusion lately - To input your address etc you need to use Settings and then edit Profile.
I could not find a way by using the My profile / About me route to do this, but then again that could be just me!

Glad it not just me .Use Settings at top of page then us Edit Profile in the box on the left of page about half way down
Hope this helps
Cheers Terry

This is the procedure I would use to fill in my Marketplace Details -
Double click on the following -
Your name in the 'Online Users' box - or anywhere its shown in red. (This takes you to your home page)
About Me

Next scroll down to Marketplace Details
Click on the yellow pen symbol against your 'full name' 'address' 'postcode' etc and fill in the details

This info remains private and only visible to you and the Club admin team. As a double check to what information others can see about you, click on -
'View your 'About Me' as seen by everyone else. This is in red writing under the 'Customise My Profile' box (top right)

Let me know if this is still not clear

Cheers Spike

Hi Spike,

Not been on the forum for ages, just looking to do an advert as my A2 has unfortunately popped (engine blown).

Looking to add my details as per the message above but cant 'see' my name, address etc to add/amend??

Please can you check if its different for you guys as administrators vs us guys, cheers,

Justin (Hound).

Hi Justin
I think there must be differences in the page setup but I can't compare how your 'about me' home differs in edit mode.
As the guys in posts 3 & 4 suggested, try clicking on 'Settings' (top right of page) then in the left hand colum under 'My Settings' click on Edit Profile. You should then be able to fill in your details.

Cheers Spike

I have added all the required details as well as sending a pm to a moderator but my post still hasn't been approved ???

For people's future reference you are better off contacting the mod team through the "contact us" link.

If you send a pm to one moderator they may not be online or availble. If you use contact us it goes to the whole moderator team so more likely to get a swifter reply.

Cheers

David
