Changing the AC pulley bearing. Is this washer from somewhere in the AC?

Good morning.

I have spent the last few months with the car disassembled because I was changing all the bearings on the accessory pulleys.

I have changed the AC one without removing the gas tubes and therefore in an uncomfortable position and without much visibility. When picking things up off the floor, I saw this small washer in the area and I don't know if it should go somewhere on the AC pulley. I haven't put any washers.

Do you know if this washer comes from the AC pulley?

Thanks!!

No, I don't, sorry.

If the washer was behind the pulley, most likely it's a spacing washer, but to me the outer diameter is not big enough for that job. If it were at the front of the pulley, it would be there to protect the pulley surface when tightening the fastener.

Looking at the level of rust on the washer. Possibly was open to the elements. This makes me guess that it was fitted to the pulley shaft below the fastener, be it a nut or bolt.

I've checked the workshop manuals but am unable to locate an exploded diagram of the compressor and pulley parts.

Have you roughly checked the belt alignment?

If the washer is performing the job of a spacer, the belt alignment may be ever so slightly off.

I would run the car and AC for a journey or two and check for excessive rubber dust in the area.

Could you measure the shaft diameter on the AC pulley? You would know then if it's a candidate to fit?
