Checking Gearbox Oil Levels

Hi All.

After doing about 90 miles in the hot weather yesterday, when I was almost home the car was getting a bit noisy. I was wondering if it could be down to needing a top-up or change of gearbox oil. After driving again today when it had cooled down over night it was quiet again, so I don't think it's a wheel bearing. It was like a whining, droning noise.

How do I check the gearbox oil level?

Thanks,

There is a filling plug on the back of the box - remove this whilst the car is level and see if the oil dribbles out. If it doesn't, you'll need to add oil to the level.

Cheers,

Mike

OK. Thanks Mike. I will get a bottle of oil from the Stealers next time I am over there.

Thanks
