hi all ..is there any way that i can tell my a2 has been chipped
would be interested
because she seems very fast to me. at 70 mph put your foot down shes away .i can see the looks on other peoples faces
so would like to know if she has been chipped.but if shes not then god she would be fast

Ok, if it is a tdi that you own you will notice that there will be a narrow band of boost in each gear, the car seems quick but runs out of steam quickly? then it is most probably standard.

If the car feels strong throughout the rev range, and easily accelerates to 4k rpm (drives like a petrol) then it has possibly been chipped/remapped.

The foolproof way is to get the car dyno'ed, that is tested on a rolling road to see what the power and torque figures are.

A standard 75PS car will put out about 75bhp at the flywheel (65-ish bhp at the wheels). Obviously, if your A2 reads higher than this, then it'll have been chipped.

There may or may not be physical signs around the ECU bolts, but there are normally no signs of a car being chipped, other than what a rolling road says.

Cheers,

Mike

Best thing is to look in the log book for previous keeper, write and ask them. I did this for the previous owner of my aprilia as he had taken the grab rails off to fit a rack and not refitted them, hewas more than happy to let me have them and offered some other tips about the bike that the dealer didn't.

if your doing about 100 mph and you put your foot down, and you feel like   :D :D

then you know you have been chipped

Yeah acceleration from around 70mph is awesome!

70:confused:

No i mean from 100 :D and then all the way down to 120

One day i will see what its top speed is, but for now 120 is ok:D

oh yeah what if forgot, that car is even at those speeds very economical :p
