Concert, AUX, Cd-changer, FM Modulator?

I'm wondering if its possible to connect my laptop to the existing soundsystem WITHOUT installing/mounting any new heavy wiring.

I've heard that one can use a FM Modulator to transfer audio to the audioplayer in the car. Have any of you tried this thing? I read that one listens in on the laptop by tuning in to a radiochannel. Does this mean that a car passing by will hear what my laptop is transfering? (Dumb question?)

Another way is to use a adapter, but can this adapter that emulates a cd-changer and thus uses the changer interface to input the aux sound, but does this device work if i already have a CD-changer?

Without wires then, eh? That's a challenge.

Let me think along...
If you already have a cd-changer, then I don't think you can 'split' the input into two separate ones, let alone two that act as a cd-changer (having seen the plug-in device that got asked for (and was found) a few days ago). Moreover, this too would require wiring from behind the radio to the laptop.
The FM modulators do the job, but it indeed ends there. They are 'just' low power FM transmitters, which indeed allows you but also (very) nearby cars to tune in on your laptop audio. However, the chances of somebody listening to the exact same frequency are slim. The bigger problem is finding a frequency that isn't too close to a real radio station. The sound quality of the FM modulators already is nothing to write home about (so I read), but it gets worse of other station infere, of course.
Second, an FM modulator needs power. Normally coming from near the cd-changer that already has power around. But with a laptop I only see more leads running from the cig-lighter to the modulator and from there to the laptop. Not nice.

The regular way to do all of this (with wires) is using a head-unit that has more than just a cd-changer input. Mine for example has additional cinch type inputs on the back for auxilary devices. And for easier access, I also have a 3.5mm mini-jack input on the front face of radio.

A less nice way might be to split out the existing leads from cd-changer to the radio and mount a switch of some sort into it, allowing you to choose the audio source. The signal needed to change input on the radio would still come from the cd-changer, meaning that it needs to be running in order to listen to the laptop.

Can't think of much else, I'm afraid.

Hopefully the guys with Apple Ipods and other MP3 players in the car also have a cd-changer, and therefor the same problem as you do. They must have thought of something!

As I have written before, I have a Changer and the iPod, which is hooked up to the TV Tuner of the SatNav+... but with the Concert, you have only two options:

1. use a wireless FM transmitter (illegal in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, etc... almost anywhere except the U.S.

2. use a WIRED FM transmitter, which is put between the Antenna and the Head unit and transmits on a specific FM frequency when switched on.

Bye, Frido.
