Concert CD player for Jan 2001 A2

I was looking at fitting a concert 1 instead of my concert 2 as my volume has stopped working and I already have a TT mk1 concert 1 lying about but as mentioned no rear speakers powers up on button regardless of ignition on and no illuminating buttons

If you have a working Concert II, I think you have a Canbus car. The Concert I doesn't have Canbus, so the Concert I is not backwards compatible (button illumination etc). Similar situation with A2s.

Hi yes I’m aware of that now I changed my heater control panel to hard touch aswell so wanted to match with older stereo hard touch but going to get another concert 2 instead I use a digital fm receiver with Spotify which works great.
 
You find the can Signal for the newer Radios at the instrument cluster, just two cables from there to the radio pins can h and can l (see the sticker on the radio) and you're done. Ignition, speed adjusted volume and light works. With dis you also have the station shown in the instrument.

The back speakers and the Bose functionality can be switched with vcds obd software.

All A2 1din units fit in all models, the A3 8l is possible with very easy cutting some plastic left and right with a sharp bread knife or a metal saw. Very easy.

The easiest for the old models without can at the radio is to find an old first line concert with Tapedeck and cd changer control (mode button) and connect a bt box.

Newer model need the can cable shown above or an expensive can simulator.

Edit: chorus was wrong, I changed it to concert
