Concert issues

Hi everyone, today I removed my concert unit so I could gain access to the climate unit (button replacement).
However once everything was put back the stereo wasn't working.First thing I did was take it out again and check connections.it was still the same,Checked fuses and all ok.Checked power at the plug (12.4 volts)
Had a coffee and left it alone.Just had another play and now have radio only. There is no volume control or illumination, but radio station is displayed on DIS.
Any ideas? Or has my head unit expired?

Many thanks

Martin

Double check the wiring connectors are fully in and there are no chaffed wires that may be shorting out. Have you checked the fuse in the rear of the head unit? Another possibility is when you removed the unit you have pulled the fascia away from the unit and may not be connecting properly now. Take the unit out and bring it into the nice warm lit house. There you can take the fascia off check nothing is damaged, reassemble it , check the rear fuse then look at the wiring looms for and damage before refitting to dash.

As your car is a 2004 model the radio is Canbus as such the car has learnt the code for the stereo so the radio will not be in safe mode. The car sees the expected radio and enables it automatically. All connections including the aerial must be fully in.

Hi audifan I took your advice and removed the unit again.i unscrewed the fascia and refitted it.After putting it back in the car I was pleasantly surprised it worked :).
