Condenser replacement - recommended brands.

I've discovered in the last few days that my A2 is definitely not cool. The aircon is overwhelmed by the heat. I could just have it regassed but the condenser is a right mess and I've decided to replace it. I've checked a thread or two and I see the dryer should be replaced at the same time.

Does anybody know who the OEM manufacturer was for Audi? Are there any better brands? Are there any brands to avoid? Thank you.

Don't waste your money on a used condenser! The condenser is the most likely component to be the source of any leak, given its requirement for lightweight construction and large surface area. Always change the dryer and use OEM O-rings where required.

I wouldn't consider a used condenser, will order OEM rings and replace dryer. Thank you

Audi have a (summertime) deal at the moment to service and re-gas the AC which includes a new dryer and clean of the compressor for £90. That doesn't solve your condenser problem, but might be worth doing that bit yourself and letting them provide a guarantee for everything else.

Felt pressured by politics and a concern that Sterling was about to plum the depths of the Mariana Trench so ordered. went for a brand called VAN WEZEL, never heard of them but appear to get good reviews in Germany. Fingers crossed.

Yes but no, I wouldn't work on my AC unless the refrigerant had been correctly removed. Good post though; could help other members.
