Coolant warning flashing on DIS

Hi,

For the last two days when I’ve fired up my Dolphin Grey TDi 75 for the first timethis has flashed up
with a warning ‘bong’. I’ve checked the coolant level on both occasions and all is fine. As soon as I turned it off and back on the warning didn’t re appear. It got up to temperature yesterday on a 60 mile run, driving enthusiasticallyat the normal rate and stayed there.

Any ideas?

If its the red temperature warning sign ,accompanied with the bong, then it's probably the sensor in the expansion tank which is intermittently faulty. Same happened to me a while back and a new tank for around £40 from Crewe Audi fixed the problem.

Not looked at the A2, but same symptoms on the TT fixed by cleaning the sensor with a small, like a propelling pencil, brass brush. It happens when the temperature drops, and the coolant level, at rest, drops a but lower than when the sun was shining.
Mac.
