I have found a car of the correct colour for bits, although it is petrol rather than diesel. There is a water problem declared with sundry other failings. What might be a suitable price? £230 is asked for but this seems a bit steep, on the other hand it is only £55 more that the £175 that I would be prepared to go to and , of course it is the right colour.

You can always recover some of your investment by selling on any bits in decent condition that you don't/won't need. If there really are none suitable, but yours is a rare colour, be prepared to pay the asking price. That doesn't sound a lot of money but it depends on spec, condition, and what it's going to cost you to transport it.

Not a rare colour. It is cobalt blue, the colour that is being broken by someone turning his car into a pick up only he does not have the bit I want. I am getting cold feet although I have decided to see it.

You could always make an offer, if it's declined leave your number he may change his mind.

BTW I am in Maidstone at the moment and seen at least 4 A2's since I have been here, nobody has waved though

There aren;t that many Cobalts out there, I have been looking for a decent bonnet and rear arches for mine for a while. There's a guy breaking one in the Iver/Uxbridge/Staines area on the FB groups, name of Paul Elmo Sall, you could try him. (No connection except that I saw it and enquired for the bits I want).

The price has gone down a bit so I am off to see it this evening.

If its a complete car strip it for the bits you need especially body panels as painting panels will work out at about £100-150 per panel from most bodyshops...…...
The stripped body will be worth good money as clean scrap alloy...…..
