Cost for replacing a clutch

Hi Folks, just wondering what you'd expect to pay for a clutch replacement on a TDi75 at an independent garage.

Wow, I think I got a MAJOR bargain when I got my six speed box installed ! It was kind or trade/mates rates though.

add an extra £500 for the dmf!

Hold your horses; add half of it:

52798

Forgot to say;

so for £250 you get twice the fun for 30 years compared to the oldman’s 75bhp. That £8/year extra for driving the coolest A2.

I think he meant that the price of the 'clutch and DMF' kit versus just the 'clutch' kit is closer to half of the £500 extra (the difference is £235.36 from the screenshot prices).
What I'm wondering is there a big difference in the expected labour costs for each?

fair enough - I was quoting prices from a few years ago when I looked last - or was it genuine?? cant remember now

Correct. The labour should be the same.

Cost me for my 1.6 FSI £458 and I got 2 year warranty with it ?

£458 included picking the car up from me and being delivered back to me

personally I think the labour cost are rather low that have been discussed so far, fair enough if 'mates rates' are in play, but I would expect around £350 labour plus the cost of the clutch kit for a 75 and LUK is around the £130 mark. so circa £500 for the job all in feels about right

you are looking at around 4 to 5 hours to remove the box, change the clutch and refit, most garages charge labour at around the £70 to £80 per hour and if they are cheaper then they simply take longer to do the job (if you get my drift)

I can do a clutch change in about a day and a half on an A2, on my own without a 2 post lift
