Crankcase vent hose for petrol engine

Thanks, but I'll probably try using some generic hose with the fittings from this one after all. I'd worry that a salvaged hose might not have too much life left in it and shipping stuff from the UK can be a bit of a hassle due to customs taking forever.

Yeah, I dissected the hose today and ordered the oil separator seals after seeing the crud inside the hose. Peace of mind is definitely worth that little extra cost. Anything I should pay attention to while cleaning the separator?
I can't help, but I suspect @rotifer II will.
Mac.

AUA crank case breathers are not as complicated as the BBY breathers. The BBY has a built-in heating element and sprung diaphragm valve but the AUA does not. I would clean the inside with solvent and use a toothbrush to remove the carbon/oil grime inside the two ports.👍

Thanks for the pointers.
I picked up most of the parts I ordered today, but they didn't have any generic hoses and I'm leaving for a little vacation tomorrow, so I probably won't get around to the repairs/maintenance I have lined up until after Christmas.

Well, finding generic hoses in this diameter was more of a challenge than expected, but in the end the old-fashioned little auto parts store a couple blocks away delivered two pieces pre-bent into a 90° angle, which will hopefully make this easier to fit. Now I found myself having another question: what does the little sensor in the middle do and what can I use to clean it?

It's a heater, 37 on the diagram in the first post. Not sure what it does, but I'm sure someone will tell me ...

The little sensor is a heater.
On the BBY crank case breather it's built into the plastic part.
Something to do with condensation in the pipe.
The little heater usually needs a good clean.
