Crankshaft sensor location

Hi I have a Audi A2 2002 I need to change the crankshaft sensor but can't find it can someone help me please as I'm going to try and change it tomorrow .thank you.

What model A2 do you have?

need to know the engine (petrol 1.4 or 1.6 or diesel)

Hi it's a 1.4 petrol

its under a rubber cover at the back of the engine on the side fairly high up. You will see a cable going into the cover
Pull up the rubber cover and a single screw (torx from memory) needs to be undone then you can pull out the crank sensor

When you say the back of the engine is that the inlet manifold side or exhaust manifold side sorry.thank you
