Hoping to start getting some paint onto the blue parts this weekend ?

I have to say I never thought I'd ever get to see what it would look like if both my A2's were merged into one ? Sound work on turning the blue one yellow there Steve ?

If it looks like a storm and it drives like a storm ?

Still a lot of finishing to do, I’ve still got glue residue from the votex to remove from the front and rear bumpers and a good machine polish.

The door shuts need painting.

I’ll also refurb the alloys as whilst they are far from the worst I’ve had, a lick of paint will work wonders.

I’m also unhappy with the colour match, but until I can get the car on the road and down to the local motor factors I’m not likely to get a better match so it will do for now.

As you can see the car is riding about 30mm higher than standard (perhaps more). This will be matched with front and rear imitation skid plates and some 25mm spacers when @Jellybean finds them ?

Not too far off now.

That’ll be the only Dune Storm this side of the Sahara then Steve? Very nice ?

Curious if Imola Yellow is just hard to match in general?

The front of mine is 3 different shades between original wings & bonnet and a repainted bumper.
The original paint seems to have bleached differently whether on plastic or metal and the "match" works for neither ?

In your pics, the roofline looks quite similar to the plastic front wing, if not the metal parts bordering it in the rear, so I guess it's matching alright somewhere at least :)

Looking forward to see more of this.

And it’s now a 90!

I think we need to know more George? Do you have photos?
I took the original CS panels off your car Steve (that’s it now on the trailer. Under the snow is the new yellow 90!
I put the yellow panels on my black 90 rescue car, new wishbones, DMF, billet turbo, Timmus intercooler, Depronman EGR delete, cruise, MYP and full professional respray of the shell. Slightly lowered with new Munroes and new brakes all round.
I haven’t finished the interior yet, just got the heated Recaro seats on Friday. And it needs wired for the heated seats. Just waiting on the climate control panel coming for that. I’ve got the full yellow CS seats to swap back in when the occasion demands.

Sounds like a cracker George and only the second yellow Colourstorm 90 in the U.K.

If you get time, please post some photos of the build on a thread, I’m sure others would love to see it.

I didn’t take many photos during the build, most of the panels were resprayed anyway to get them all the same shade of yellow. It was the roughest running A2 I’ve ever driven and the gearbox was very difficult.
Turned out the rough running was the DMF, that and a service was all it needed, and and MYP sorted the gears!
It has turned out a lovely car so far, the billet turbo starts boosting at lower revs as it’s lower mass and spins up more easily and it gives a very flat torque curve. It’s whetted my appetite for a turbo change to a VNT on one of the 75s.
Thank you to everyone involved, WOM, @A2Steve, @Clackers, @depronman, @ICowie, Tdi Turbos, and Andrew and Arek who did the bodywork. And Angry Bee who has temporarily loaned her wheels

Nooooo….. that would mean another fsi bites the dust??
Surely another engine must be available somewhere?????????????
There is loads of tdi’s about but not so many FSI’s and especially in yellow. Thoughts ??
It makes other FSI’s more valuable….. I'm not adverse to this for obvious reasons. 😉
