Custom pipe/hose manufacturer for coolant hose? 8Z2819371

Can anyone recommend a company that can/will make a replacement for this part?

Part number is: 8Z2 819 371 / 8Z2819371

Sadly it is no longer available from Audi and seems like nobody has it in stock anywhere either.

I can supply my original one for copying etc, or buy another second hand one (which will probably have an equal amount of wear and tear!)

my car is off the road now, because of this stupid hose!

will a company like Pirtek(?) make one?
does anyone have experience with having a custom hose made up ?

I guess will need to know the exact material, temperatures to withstand, pressure specs etc of the original one (haven’t a clue!)

the car is a 2002 A2 1.4tdi 75BHP model
(AMF engine code)

I know nothing about this except suggest you have a word with Tom(Timmus), I know he had some bespoke pipes for his TDI120 project.

Derby Performance Hose? They manufacture specials but in silicone.
Have you looked further afield, to Europe?
I keep mentioning oemvwshop.com as they seem to be able to source NOS parts and those that are NLA in UK, but €20 shipping is going to be a bit steep on small parts.
Keep the order under £130(?) and you won't pay any vat ;)

None of those shops can help! I’ve tried them all

most people still offer / list the item as available but they don’t have them in stock

you pay them, then they ask Audi for the part, and get the same response that we would!

going to try a few custom hose companies and hope for the best

meanwhile, if anyone has a good condition hose of the same part number, will buy!!!

I have updated the original post with the correct part number, turns out I was given the wrong number to search for.

Now that the hose is off the car, we have a better idea of what we are looking for.

At the moment, I think a second hand good condition one from ebay may end up being the first choice!

Going to give that a shot, if anyone happens to have one laying around or knows where I can get a new one, please drop the info here!

Ok so I might have found a solution to this problem

I will update this thread with what happens (positive or negative!)

does anyone else require this hose?
if more people need one, it may make it worthwhil

either way, I’m going ahead with trying to get at least one because I am in desperate need of it at the moment

================

I did find that Audi link last night, but every time I tried to order it, it shows no option for sending to UK

they have a note on their website saying that shipping to UK has been suspended due to their s**t website not being able to handle the new tax/customs stuff with regards to BREXIT. If you try to put another country name and a UK address, they refund / cancel the order.

not very helpful are they!

This is the problem with unclarity. For a chunk of this year, I wasn't able to ship to the UK as the carriers wouldn't touch it as HMRC didn't seem to know what they were doing and / or were still feeling their way around the paperwork. Add in the current issues with shipping (even within Europe), where stuff sits for days without reason or rhyme and I'm not in the least bit surprised. Then when we did ship to the UK, there was a kerfuffle at the receiver end, demanding bonds, paperwork and money that wasn't due. This will put lots of companies off.

The German page at the moment states clearly they have issues with shipping to different countries, depending on their logistics partners (and that rings true with my current experience). The shipping country list is limited. I can get stuff here, but it will probably take weeks and €30 is steep for a glovebox handle.....They might allow shipping in the future, but they'll potentially need to have certificates of origin, whatever safety stuff the UK dreams up and the customs forms. I shipped 2 GPUs earlier today and those were easy for me as a) I know the process b) I have the codes I need and c) I'm working with high-value items and UPS. I also have a very, very good broker. Without these things, it's not worth the hassle for small stuff - and it cost me around 5 minutes for a known shipment with known HSS codes. I don't see this happening easily for car parts. I might be wrong, but... if they do it, it won't be until after COVID has allowed them to go back to full strength IMO.

managed to get the part by shipping to a friend in another country, and forwarded it to me.
that thing is sorted for now, however now i have a new (unrelated i think!) problem, which ill make a thread on lol
