Hi guys,
have experienced a problem that I've had in a different car previously - driving along and fan just stops dead, so I try heated rear windscreen which is not working either and suddenly my car is slowing down and the steering is heavy, very, very heavy. So I think 'Oh no I've got a flat tyre and will be forced to use that dodgy needle thing' but when I inspect them, all my tyres are fine. So now I get back in the car and because I'm not exactly 'parked' I decide to move my car by reversing into a car park behind me. Starts first time, no noise, smoke, nothing it justs starts and drives without any sign of a problem.
I carry 4 little people everyday in this car so I must have some reassurance that she isn't about to die and take us all with her! If you have any idea how to diagnose this problem and prevent it from occurring again, please help.

Sounds like an electrical problem. Best to get the car scanned for faults by a member of this forum who maybe near you or failing that a local garage.

I'd agree with Sarge that its most likely to be an electrical problem. It could even be a combination of faults so have the basics checked first - battery cables and eart points in the car are tight, alternator belt and pulley condition (is the alternator charging ok) and wiring loom to steering pump if its a TDi.
If you don't have a local Audi expert I'd recommend you have a drive over to Mossley to see Mike (Skipton01) for an inspection and diagnostic scan. If he has the time, he is always willing to help and his rates are very reasonable

Cheers Spike
