Dension Bluetooth adaptor problem, concert 2 goes to safe mode

As per title. I have had this dension for 3 years, bought it of eBay. Connected it today but did not connect the black earth cable , switched on the radio and went straight to ”safe” mode. As it is the original unit I don’t know the code. Took the dension cable out and all is works fine. I do have the MFSW so it should work. Any ideas? cheers Jorrit
 
What happens if you connect the earth cable, does it then work okay?
If not try powering up the radio before plugging in the adaptor, perhaps it will then recognise it correctly.
