Depronman dipstick ends in clear/translucent plastic

It has been brought to my attention by a member that these clear/translucent dipstick ends are not fit for purpose
It Would appear that a plastic which should have been superior to the ABS which I have been using for several years is not. It appears to be letting the oil into the layers of the printed part and swelling the plastic
Please don’t use any of these clear/ translucent ends, I will replace them FOC for abs ones if you let me know that you have the clear ones
I am away on holiday until the 15th Nov so I cannot do anything until then

If you have fitted one then please try to carefully pull out the dipstick rotating the handle once it has been pulled out a little may help
If you can get the dip stick out then remove the end if there is any signs of swelling

Apologies for any inconvenience caused

Paul

Kudos Paul for the post.

I had a local bloke who would replace these for older audis (back in audi 100 days i believe) with bits pressed from tin i believe or some similar soft metal - had a nice grandpa type jig made up from two parts for a press, thought was really cool back in the day and likely really not worth it but during long cold winter evenings people do crazy things :D

Lots of people are using my ABS ends on petrols as well as tdi’s without any problems.
This clear/translucent material as a higher mention point than ABS and is not meant to be affected by oil - I am rather puzzled atm and would like to here from anyone who as had the swelling issue with the clear ends
It is possible that it is just one of them but I doubt it. I print them as two rows of three on the printer bed so it could be that one corner is cooler than the rear of the bed therefore making layer bonding less effective
