Diesel filter housing

Looking for a Diesel filter housing or just the bottom half of it with drain plug, as that is all that is damaged, for my car.

New to the club so would appreciate any help or advice

Thanks in anticipation Keith

I had the same problem, I’ve filled the drain hole with silicon and trimmed and reinserted the broken piece back in situ
I have now refitted it back on to my car, so now I don’t have the facility to drain the filter, but that isn’t a problem to me, it will just make sure I change the filter every year, and I don’t have the worry of having a unexpected failure and the inconvenience of being off the road. So easy.

Diesel fuel filters are not an area to bodge. The correct operation of the diesel requires the fuel system to be air tight. If you are lucky it will just drain the fuel tank, if unlucky will introduce lots of air making the car difficult to start and will not run well.

Replace the filter housing with another one.

So, is a replacement drain nut/bolt, such as the ones manufactured by various members in the club regarded as a "bodge" surely making the system airtight as you mention is the overriding factor, and can be undertaken with reasonable confidence it will effect a lasting repair, I would consider the that the manufacturer of the filter top is the ones who have bodged the part, seeing as it seems to have a weakness of the drain bolt, after all this is the only thing which seems to fail.

Absolutely not. The machined drain plug is an excellent product and thoroughly recommended. It uses the standard seals and screws into the threaded drain location in the cap perfectly with no other changes.

The filter top is not the issue it is the plastic drain bolt fitted to it as standard. People do not read the warnings about the very low torque on this bolt and shear them. This is where the bodges come in with various O rings, sealants and random over sized bolts.

Have seen the filter housing split before.
