So ok guys, how the h-ll can you see where the oil is when its clean. not so bad when its grubby, but by the time that happens on my petrol its time for an oil change again. I remember when I had a Tdi the dealer used to say wait till the gong goes then top up asap. That was about every 800mls as it used it like I had my own oil well. Dealer used to say they are all like that. It didn't improve from new to 32000 when I got rid. Does anyonr have a mod? wouldn't be so bad if it were black or silver but oil colour is plain silly. Regards Colin. PS I remember a thread where someone was looking into getting the early sticks with a steel section but didnt see a result for that one. My dealer couldnt find a part no. or an alternative to the silly orange one now still available.

Well, I thought that, but I just made sure the dipstick was very dry with tissue and if you try it 3 or 4 times you should see where it is on the dipstick eventually.
