Had my A2 serviced on Tuesday to be advised that the air filter for my ATL engine TDI was discontinued in March. ( info from TPS Glasgow). We got one okay from elsewhere, however anyone else experienced this and is there an equivalent part number from the rest of the VAG parts catalogue that's the same. Just not 8Z0

The air filter's part number is 6N0129620A - I'd be surprised if this was discontinued? Either way you can still get them easily.

The air filter's part number is 6N0129620A

According to the Audi parts catalogue, the air filter's OEM part number is 8Z0129620 and that's for all engines.

Air filter for all Audi A2 models 8Z0129620

The air filter with OEM part number 6N0129620A is used on the VW Polo MK3 with diesel engines.

If you're looking for aftermarket parts, it's better to use the Audi A2 OEM part number.

MANN-FILTER C 12 107/1 8Z0129620 (for Audi A2)

If you looked for an air filter using the VW Polo MK3 OEM part number 6N0129620A you could find this Mann C 12 107, but there's no mention that it's suitable for the Audi A2. Hence, it's best to search for an aftermarket air filter using the correct 8Z0129620 OEM part number.

Just to mention GSF have an online offer on at the moment making the Mann Air Filters just £9.05 including vat which is a very good price 👍

£9.05 is a good price but they do charge for delivery on orders under £25, so amazon would be cheaper if you're not near a GSF branch.

Amazon is listing the Mann C 12 107/1 for £10.52 including shipping.

Id go with the Bosch unless the crossland gets relisted at £1.37

autodoc list the Bosch 1 457 433 538 air filter for the Audi A2 at about £9.22.

But does the Bosch air filter sold at eurocarparts for £2.85 have the same Bosch 1 457 433 538 part number?

eurocarparts deliberately hides the manufacturers' part numbers to make it difficult to shop around for a better price.

true.

then click the wee button at the right hand end of the line for the filter (part 2) , which brings up all the aftermarket and other oem (Audi, VW, Seat etc.) part codes as well.

The 6N0 VW part number cited above is listed down the page as well as all the usual aftermarket companies meaning that these can be searched for at the best price possible.

That's obviously an error and pretty sure not the right part.

if you are ordering a service kit it should come to more than £25 anyway which would then qualify for the free delivery.

Since the genuine filters/service parts started to dry up and become silly money i have always used Bosch but Mann are also OEM and no difference at all to 'genuine' that Audi themselves obviously don't make anyway but i wouldn't use cheaper pattern parts👍

Wow, I've just paid £14 for a Bosch S3538 air filter ... along with a Bosch oil filter for £7 and £23 for 5 litres of Mannol 504/507 oil, all delivered by Amazon ... but it's still the least expensive service I've ever done 😄
