DIY gear shifter locking pin

Having looked through countless threads of gearbox linkage adjustment, i kept seeing dieselgeeks locking pin, and being a tool horder, i wanted one. But the mrs needed the gear selection better by tomorrow. So i decided to make one.

Wickes sell 5mm steel round stock (i know, it'll rust), but it aint gotta be pretty if it works! £3.45 for 1m length.

Cut off abiut 150mm of the bar, then use a bit of brake pipe benders and get the 45DEG bend on it and youve got yourself the perfect gear locker.

Worked perfectly tonight!

Happy to make up some if people wanted to cover postage ?

Cheers
John

A 5 mm knitting needle (alloy-not plastic!) fills the bill nicely, bends easily and cuts to length. Don't tell the wife if you nick one though!
