DIY lowering

Has any body lowered there car there self? Did you find changing the front springs difficult? i ve done the back took less than an hour this morning. Need to do front now so any tips appreciated.

To change the front springs is a lot more involved and requires the removal of the wheels and the entire damper units.

Put it this way, it's not impossible, but I wouldn't attempt it on my own. It takes the Stealth Racing boys a good 2 hours, even with all the toys and a 2 post lift.

I lowered my A2 a couple of weeks ago using an set of Eibach prokit springs.

The front took me 2 hours and the rear about half an hour. You don't even need tools for the rear since the springs can be pulled out bu hand when the damper has been disconnected.

If you know the basic use of tools you should be able todo it yourself, but if you have any concerns you should probably leave it to a pro.
 
To do the rears i jacked the car up and put axle stands under, wheels off, then compressed each spring slid out compressed new spring and slid in. i also cleaned the shocks and archs.
