New to A2 ownership from last week and I've found that there seems to be a rattle from the roof area but I can't put my finger on exactly where its coming from. It maybe the roof flexing and that its coming from the glass roof itself or just the blinds.

I've also got a questions about the throttle response too but I'll start a new topic with that one.

Any feedback welcome.

Cheers[24]

Get some creaks from opensky now and again. I used a bit of vaseline on all the rubbers and this seems to have cured it. Silicone is probably better but I didn't have any.

Just picked mine up from the dealership tonight due to problems with the opensky. The front pane of glass was lifting fine , but the second was sticking and the motor was not strong enough to do the job. The other problem was when I managed to fully open the roof, it rattled like mad, evn over the smallest of bumps. Audi have cleaned and lubricated and the roof now opens fine, but the rattle is still there!
Can I ask you other opensky users if this rattle is normal? Am I just being fussy?
Hate the thought of driving round on a nice warm summers day (Fat Chance, although I believe summer is on a tuesday this year) with the roof making an absolute racket.

Right, I'll get the KY jelly out then....ooops I mean vaseline.[:I]

KY may be better for the rubbers!!!!!

No rattle from my OpenSky when open, but I do occasionaly get a rattle from what I think is the wind deflector reverberating a bit. Only very rarely though.

Whilst we're talking about OpenSky, and not wanting to go too off topic, but who else has tried reaching up with one hand and lowering the wind deflector whilst in motion? I did this morning (out of pure curiosity), and jeez! That wind deflector is so necessary! I nearly lost an eardrum I'm sure!

I have open sky and when open have no rattles. Had problems opening it as it had not been opened during the winter. Did it eventually but wow did it crack when the last bit opened. Now put some lubricant 3 in oil on the rubber seal now its fine opens and closes with not a sound. Think the rubber seals get dried out.

Do not use mineral oil on the rubber seals - they harden and break up when exposed to it. Get some rubber lubricant from halfords or similar - they used to sell it in small sachets.

Might be tempted to try silicone lubricant.

Audi chief mechanic told me to use petroleum jelly (good old vaseline). He explained that most car cleaning products strip the moisture out of the rubber seals, and thats why I had problems with the second pane of glass lifting. It now opens very smoothly (without the bang) but I have still got the annoying rattle when open.
