The dog bone mount can become worn Hadi. The possible symptoms of wear are juddering .... the engine feels like its "moving" when you set off in first gear.

Just a quick note the Febi part was identical to the original Audi part bar the removable bracket except where the part no had been ground off on the recess!
& £150 cheaper than Audi price.

Rumours were that the rubber wasn't as strong on the Febi part compared to Audi. I'm not sure how much truth is in this but when it's that much cheaper and only a 20 minute job I went of the Febi. No issues so far 1 year on.

So changed the gearbox oil the other week and thinking I should have taken the opportunity to replace the dog bone at the same time on my TDI.

Anyone done it and seen a difference to vibration on cold?

After changing the dog bone (pendulum mount) whole car is smoother, gear change improved and the shunting when changing gear fast has gone. Cold vibration both from the engine and gear stick much better.
Apparently the difference in the bog bones for the varoius vehicles is the more expensive one (Audi) is supposed to have a different rubber formulation for the diesel making it stiffer and more resistant to diesel leaks
