Door felt seals

I have noticed that when it has been raining the felt door strips running along the inside highest part of the door above the windows becomes wet?

Is this normal?

It happens on all four doors too.

I wonder if anyone could check theirs as it should be raining atm :(

Cheers

Hi Alex,
I am not sure if i explained the question properly.

Its not the felt around the windows, there is another felt strip on the door frame across the top, or it could be on the bodyshell where the top of the door frames close onto the shell. I am not near my car at the moment to see.

Mine are wet on all four doors
I think that it is normal as there is a rubber strip that seals the door so the warter will run out at the bottom of the door and not in to the car:confused:

Just watched the evening news and saw the problems people are having seven days after the floods arrived. I sincerely hope the owner gets their car sorted. It appears well looked after, and I'm sure the owner is heart broken.

If the engine was that wet would it start?

If I went through a foot and a half of water would it come inside the car? Not sit in it for a while,
just a 5 second drive through..

having had my rear door apart today for tinting....

there's the felt seal between the body and the door. This appears to be mainly cosmetic (!) and to stop the majority of water from running down the inside of the door opening. It's also to stop you opening your car door in spring in finland when the snow melts and then freezes again at night. this is the one that sticks.

The real seal is on the inside. I can post some pics tomorrow when i do the other door ....
